Rep. Riley M. Moore Sworn in to 119th Congress

January 3, 2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C. – Today, just after 12PM, Congressman Riley M. Moore joined his new colleagues in the Capitol Building’s House Chamber for the swearing-in ceremonies of the 119th Congress. Rep. Moore was joined by his wife Mina, their three children, and several additional family members and friends to celebrate the occasion. See photos here.

Congressman Moore released the following statement:

“It’s an honor to serve the people of West Virginia, and I’m committed to ensuring their voice is heard here in our nation’s capital.

“We the People gave a clear mandate to Washington this past November, and Congress should move quickly to get the Great American Comeback underway. That starts with sealing the border, enforcing immigration law, and beginning to get our fiscal house in order.

“I’m incredibly grateful to my constituents for placing their trust in me, and am equally grateful to my amazing family for their love and support. Let’s get to work!”

In November, Moore won a decisive victory for West Virginia’s Second District. Prior to his election to Congress, he served as the State Treasurer of West Virginia. In that capacity, he spearheaded efforts to end state contracts with financial institutions who adopted anti-fossil fuel mandates or had similar ESG policies in place.

In addition, Moore collaborated with the state legislature to pass a bill establishing the Jumpstart Savings Plan. This program allows individuals who wish to pursue a vocation or trade to make tax-free contributions to savings or investment accounts. In turn, those funds can then be used to help cover the business startup costs, equipment, tools, certifications, and licenses needed for their occupation. The inspiration for the legislation came from Congressman Moore’s personal experience as a welder early in his career.
